The New York Stem Cell Foundation Fifth Annual Gala Dinner

Since 2005 The New York Stem Cell Foundation (NYSCF) has directed private funds to advance the most cutting-edge stem cell research in the world, in NYSCF’s own research laboratories and other institutions.

The organization also sponsors The NYSCF Fellowship Program, The NYSCF Investigator Program, and The NYSCF - Robertson Prize, all with the goal of accelerating cures for the major diseases of our time, including: diabetes, heart disease, Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, spinal muscular atrophy, autoimmune disease, Alzheimer’s, macular degeneration, cancer, ALS, and spinal cord injury.

The NYSCF Gala Dinner, which opened NYSCF’s Annual Translational Stem Cell Research Conference, provided a great opportunity to learn first hand about stem cell research and to meet the scientists who work tirelessly to find the cures we need for those we love.

This year, NYSCF honored Dorothy Lichtenstein with The NYSCF Humanitarian Award, which was presented by Agnes Gund, President Emerita of The Museum of Modern Art, and the artist Chuck Close, who received The NYSCF Humanitarian Award in 2008.
