ST. MARY’S HEALTHCARE SYSTEM FOR CHILDREN’S TRIBUTE DINNER

ST. MARY’S HEALTHCARE SYSTEM FOR CHILDREN’S TRIBUTE DINNER HONORING GEORGE LEVENTIS, LANGAN INTERNATIONAL, RAISES OVER $650,00 IN SUPPORT OF ST. MARY’S KIDS

The night was young, the skies were bright and New York City’s warm fall weather lured in over 400 loyal supporters of St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children at the prestigious Gotham Hall. It was a glamorous night in the heart of the Big Apple as hundreds of prominent business leaders from the engineering, development, construction and real estate industries gathered at St. Mary’s annual Tribute Dinner and helped to raise over $650,000 to benefit some of the most seriously ill and injured children in the New York region battling complex medical conditions.

No one could have predicted the spirited crowd that filled Gotham Hall that evening, other than the event MC, Fox 5’s weatherman, Nick Gregory who kicked off the evening with a sunny and bright forecast. Event and sponsor chair, Nick Billotti, CEO of Turner International and last year’s honoree took the floor with a few passionate remarks about St. Mary’s and introduced the evening’s honoree, George E. Leventis, President of Langan International and Senior Principal of Langan Engineering.

Mr. Leventis was recognized for his generous contributions in supporting critical programs for St. Mary’s kids. A father of three teenage girls, Mr. Leventis’ goal is to help improve the health and quality of life for children with special needs. “I have had the good fortune of working on major projects on five continents where we’ve pushed the limits and reached new heights, but the work St. Mary’s performs every day with special needs children and their families is truly an inspiration,” said George Leventis. “I am honored to be a part of St. Mary’s important work.” Mr. Leventis is internationally recognized for his award-winning work on large-scale engineering engagements. Among many of accomplishments, Mr. Leventis was appointed Director General of Olympic Works for the Athens Games and had the privilege of carrying the Olympic torch across the newly opened Rion-Antirion Bridge.

Other highlights included acclaimed singer and songwriter, Rachel Pasternack, and the unveiling of a video montage about St. Mary’s kids accompanied by live music from special guest performer, Wade Preston from the hit Broadway Show “Movin’ Out.” The excitement heightened as St Mary’s kids and therapists made their debut on stage, singing and dancing along.

The Event and Sponsor Chairs for the Tribute Dinner were Nick Billotti, CEO of Turner International, and Vincent Riso, President of the Briarwood Organization.

The Leading Sponsors were Cindy and Tod Johnson and Turner Construction Company. Visionary Sponsors included DJ Ambulette Service, and the LANGAN/Leventis family. The Hero Sponsors were Marie & Charles DeBenedittis, Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP and Lorraine & Richard Gilden
Champion Sponsors included Baker Concrete Construction, Inc., DeSimone Consulting Engineers, G.H.G. Realty Company, L.L.C., Jacobson and Company, Inc., KLM Construction Inc., and Thornton Tomasetti, Inc.
