CCBF Fundraiser at American Girl Place

The Children’s Cancer & Blood Foundation (CCBF) partnered with American Girl® on Tuesday evening, March 15, 2011 to host its annual charity fundraising event at the company’s three-story, flagship store in New York City.

Thanks to the generosity of American Girl, all costs were underwritten to ensure that 100% of the proceeds from the evening went directly to CCBF. This allowed CCBF to continue its exceptional mission to provide the very best up-to-date treatments for young patients with cancer and blood diseases, as well as engage in breakthrough research that will lead to improved care and cures for childhood cancer and blood diseases, including hemophilia, leukemia, sickle cell anemia, HIV/AIDS, and thalassemia.

From 6-8 p.m., American Girl Place closed its doors for CCBF friends, family, and supporters for an exclusive evening of fun for kids and parents alike. The evening included access to the entire store and many of American Girl’s most popular experiences, including a photo session at the Photo Studio, a special doll hairdo at the Doll Hair Salon, a “Creativitee” Doll Tee, a special My AG scavenger hunt and crafts featuring Hawaiian-themed activities in honor of Kanani, American Girl's 2011 Girl of the Year. Guests were able to feast on kid-friendly hors d’oeuvres, choose from a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and indulge in a dessert bar featuring mouth-watering treats. Attendees were also given the chance to enter a raffle to win a variety of popular American Girl dolls and amazing packages for parents. To complete the experience, each child took home a goodie bag featuring products from American Girl, Bugalug, Cozy’s Cuts for Kids, Twice Loved, Bloomingdales and other top children’s companies.
